Mathmatics Another form of literacy

I believe that mathematics is a form of Literacy. Everyday I have been sitting in math class totally unaware of the fact that math is its own form of literacy, it never even dawned on me. It was not until I saw this IBM commercial on television that I realized just how significance math is. The commercial helped me realize that we use it so much and it is included in so many of the things we do. So many individuals use it in their everyday lives, on the job, at the store, when we budget, you can just look around you and you’ll notice a form of math in just about anything you feast your eyes upon. Math is a language of it’s own but instead of words it uses numbers, to determine things, and like writing these numbers can sometimes carry deep meaning, and can provide great clarity and understanding. I mean look at things like the Davinci Code, he used math to point to clues to uncover the Holy grails whereabouts, then when have things like astrology, numerology that determine things by numbers. With the understanding of math and being literate in it we can unlock, mysteries, we can be more precise, we can figure things out easier, we can change the world.
