In this photograph we see A man and a woman. The woman is serving the man his dinner, with a smile on her face, not a hair on her head out of place, and the man appears to be quite happy and all seems to be perfectly well. The reason I choose this picture because it suggest perhaps that in our culture women are almost always trying to please a man, and are always open and constantly searching for new ways to do so. Notice that the text in the thought bubble says, "I hope my smile is warm enough for him." It might suggest that women can only be content with themselves only if they have the approval of a man. It may suggest that they are self conscious about not only their appearance but their depiction. It is as if they want to fit into the role of the perfect superficial, idealistic wife.It is as if a man rules the self esteem. I also believe this picture reverts back to the notion that men are the dominate figures, and in their perfect world a woman would be serving them their dinner while looking nice and smiling. It may also again suggest that women are like an accessory to a man's image or perhaps to the American dream so many seek after, they are the trophies on the shelf, the shine on the shoe, the icing on the top of a decadent cake.
